On January 25, 2025, The Year of the Elephant was held, offering children an enriching experience centered on Islamic history, values, & scientific reflection. The program began with lively group discussions among children in their respective color groups, setting an engaging tone. This was followed by a heartfelt tilawat of Surah Al-Fil by Yahya Faran, which introduced the event’s theme & laid the foundation for the historical insights shared later. Maulana Owais provided a captivating account of the Kaaba’s history, from its construction by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) & Hazrat Ismail (AS) to the settlement of Makkah around it. He narrated the events surrounding King Abraha’s attempt to destroy the Kaaba, only for Allah to foil his plans by sending a miraculous flock of birds. This story highlighted Allah’s supreme power & the importance of dua in overcoming challenges.
After Maghrib prayers, the children enjoyed solving Prophetic Series jigsaw puzzle and shared snacks in a friendly environment. The 2nd session transitioned into a thought-provoking discussion on how science reflects the greatness of Allah. While some of Allah’s miracles, like the birds defeating Abraha’s army, are beyond human comprehension, the session emphasized how natural forces such as gravity & buoyancy are signs of Allah’s control over the universe. The children were motivated to recognize their own potential, likening their aspirations to the Ababeel birds, with Allah’s support enabling them to achieve remarkable goals. This session ended with a STEM activity where children designed and built boats capable of carrying aid to Palestine. This exercise combined creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving while reinforcing the idea that even small actions can lead to significant outcomes with determination and faith. The event concluded on a high note, inspiring children to trust in Allah, dream big, and strive to make a difference.
