The 6th event in the Seerat Club’s ongoing series, titled "The Prophet in the Making", took place on 5th April 2025 at Shafqat Masjid, from Asar to Isha prayers. The storytelling session was conducted by Maulvi Owais, who focused on the youth phase of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)’s life.
He began by highlighting how the Prophet (SAW), like many other Prophets, worked as a shepherd in his early years. This played a crucial role in nurturing qualities such as patience, humility, and courage. One story he narrated involved the Prophet’s (SAW) attempt to visit the city, as other youth of Makkah did for leisure. However, sleep overtook him on the way, and he only awoke with the heat of the morning sun—an incident that reminded listeners how Allah protected him from the corrupt influences of society.
Another key part of the session focused on the Prophet’s (SAW) travel experiences with his uncle, Abu Talib. These journeys, especially trade trips to Syria, provided him with valuable exposure and wisdom from the company of experienced individuals. On one such trip, a monk observed how even trees, stones, and clouds in the valley honored the young Muhammad (SAW), recognizing him as the future Messenger of Allah based on signs foretold in earlier scriptures.
Children were encouraged to learn important life lessons from these stories—such as helping others, gaining wisdom through shared experiences, and contributing positively to society. These were the very qualities that earned the Prophet (SAW) the title Al-Amin, even before his prophethood.
Following the storytelling, an engaging scouting activity session was held. Children were introduced to the concept of scouting and how it helps in developing vital life skills. Brief exposure was given to basic rescue training, fire safety, and navigation using a compass—activities aimed at building character, confidence, and a sense of responsibility.
